Please be aware of ‘Netiquette’ and treat people as reasonable people would like to be treated in real life. The forum is managed by a group of volunteer moderators who generously donate their time to help the forum run smoothly. Please respect them.
The Pre-hospital Research Forum was developed to encourage a friendly and safe environment for discussion and learning. This is also a public forum, so the way members present themselves reflects on both the individual and the forum.
Don’t make inflammatory posts or threads just to ‘stir up’ the forum. Don’t exaggerate just to make a point. Respect your fellow forum members, and don’t vent your frustrations at them. We have a legal obligation to remove any posts that may be defamatory. This basically means that if you say anything that might lower or damage an identifiable person’s reputation, it will be removed (regardless of whether or not it is true). Even if you do not actually name the individual, other information shared may achieve the same result.
While debate and discussion are fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, profanity (or attempts to bypass profanity filters), insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Never post negative threads about other forum members. Any member who is intentionally unpleasant or disruptive may be banned without warning.
Remarks, comments or materials that are considered disparaging or abusive of any religion, race, nation, gender, or sexual orientation will not be tolerated.
We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.
No porn, material of a sexually explicit nature, racism, warez related, or otherwise illegal posts. You may not link, in any manner, to sites or images containing pornography, sexually explicit material, gross violence, or other determined by moderators to be detrimental to the forum.
Do not upload, attach, or otherwise post any copyrighted material which you are not free to redistribute (subject to the licensing terms of the specific item). If you have a question about having permission to post or attach a specific item, please ask a moderator.
No multi-posting. (Posting the same post or thread more than once.)
Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts, or such like.
Members are asked only to post in English, as this is an English speaking community.
Members should post in a way which is consistent with “normal writing”. That is, users should not post excessive numbers of emoticons, large, small or coloured text, etc. Similarly users should not SHOUT or use excessive punctuation (e.g. !!! and ???) in topic titles or posts.
Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum, email, visitor messages, blog comments, picture comments and private message systems to spam other members.
The moderating, support and other teams reserve the right to edit, remove or put on moderation queue any post at any time. Contact the administrator if you disagree with a moderation. If you think you have been treated unfairly contact the administrator, rather than posting in the forum. Posts discussing moderator actions will be removed/ edited.
While constructive comparative conversations about various company’s products can be both informative and relevant, blatant adverts will not be tolerated.
The forum reserves the right to ban anyone who willfully violates the forum rules.
Also, while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently the Forum reserves the right to take any actions deemed appropriate to ensure these pages are not disrupted or abused in any way.
